The brief was to create a family friendly garden, suitable for entertaining, with an elegant and contemporary feel.
This was very much a blank canvas and I came in just as the new family house was towards the end of the build phase.
The garden needed to blend into the surrounding countryside, whilst reflecting the clients’ contemporary new home.

The once muddy field has been transformed into a multi-level space with water rills, dining and chill out areas, including a sunken lounge area which is surrounded by lush, fragrant planting; perfect for the pollinators.  Within hours of planting, the garden hummed to the sound of bees. The large borders break up the patio area and the repeat plantings give the garden a sense of cohesion. The pleached trees were added to provide height and structure
throughout the year and to informally divide the garden.
