The owners of this garden have an excellent eye for interior design and the garden needed to reflect this.
The brief was to create a contemporary space with a Scandinavian style woodland garden, whilst bringing the planting as close to the house as possible with all living areas and the main bedroom having views onto the garden.
The clients wanted a feeling of being immersed in the garden. Strong geometric lines were used in the hard landscaping, all softened by the planting.

Silver birch trees are underplanted with ferns, Japanese anemones, Astrantia and evergreen grasses. To create the feeling of immersion the largest border comes right up to the house and can be viewed from the picture window in the snug. This larger border is loved by the bees and butterflies and ties in with the eco-credentials of the house.
